Here are three suggestions to help you get the most out of the networking exchange at Chicago ExecuNet meetings.
Structured Networking – We will begin with everyone sharing a 30-second elevator speech. Then you, and everyone present, will have a total of 3-4 minutes’ focus on you and your goals.
Plan to spend 1-2 minutes answering the following questions and then allow 1-2 minutes for the group to respond and offer their help. Your facilitator(s) will guide this process.
- What are you seeking?
- What are your area(s) of expertise?
- What kinds of challenges do you solve and for whom?
- How you can help the group?
- How the group can help you?
Your 30-second elevator speech. Tell us who you are, what you are looking to do and for whom. Sign up for the Inspired Choice Elevator Speech Worksheet at www.howtolovenetworking.com. This worksheet offers guidance on how to design elevator speeches of varying length to use in different networking situations.
Bring business cards and you may choose to bring 25-30 copies of your resume or a one-page summary handbill (click the link to see a sample).
